Etihad has announced a promo where in addition to tranferring points from some other loyalty programs, you will also get 1 Tier mile for every mile transferred.
The offer is valid for all Points to Miles transfers made between 15 Jul and 30 Aug 2020 both days inclusive. Etihad Guest members who transfer their points during the campaign period will receive 1 tier mile for every mile transferred with a minimum threshold of 5,000 miles transfer and the Tier Miles will be capped at 20,000 tier miles.
Points transfer partners are:
Accor Limitless, Hilton, IHG, Radisson, Hyatt, Marriott, Shangri La, Joyalukkas, Smiles (Etisalat), AIMIA (Air Miles/My Reward Points), AMEX Membership Rewards, Hana Bank in Korea, Capital One in USA, Barclays in USA, Livelo in Brazil, Inbursa in Mexico, CITIC Bank in China, Ping An Wan li tong in China, SPDB in China, ICBC in China, Jing Dong coin in China, Cathay United Bank in Taiwan, Krungthai Card in Thailand, Commonwealth Bank in Australia, Standard Chartered Bahrain, UAE and Singapore, Citibank Global, ADCB Touchpoints, Al Hilal Bank (Joud points), Emirates Islamic Bank, Emirates NBD, FAB Stars, HSBC, National Commercial Bank.
The ones most applicable to us Canadians are:
Amex MR 1000 Membership Rewards points = 750 Etihad Guest miles
or
10000 Hilton Honors Points = 1000 Etihad Guest Miles
or
2.5 World of Hyatt Points to 1 Etihad Guest Mile
So the first level of status you can achieve, well almost at 25000 Etihad Tier is Etihad Guest Silver. So if you maxed out at 20000, you will be at 80% of getting there. Or you get get to the next level of Gold or Platinum.
So, what does Etihad Guest Silver get you?
– Priority check-in
– Use miles to pay for access to Etihad lounges
– Extra 10kgs baggage allowance
– Extra 25% miles on every flight, exclusive partner offers and miles validity of up to 1 year
This is an interesting promo on the heels of Etihad now being an Aeroplan partner as you can collect either Aeroplan miles or Etihad Guest miles on paid fares depending on what balances you want to boost up. i.e. if you dont have any status and you earn just another 5000 Tier miles, you will easily reach Etihad Guest Silver.
