Review-AirCanada SanDiego to Vancouver

Review-AirCanada SanDiego to Vancouver

Here is a review of flight number one SAN-YVR on the way home to Toronto.

Business class passengers in Zone 1 were invited to board after wheelchair passengers. As we boarded the aircraft, we were warmly greeted and welcomed on board.

The seats were quite spacious in a 1-2 layout. The only drawback of the seats in the first row is that there is literally no storage space.

Generous leg room

One service that I always look for and that was not offered upon boarding this flight was the coat check.

As soon as we settled in our seats, we were offered water bottles, followed by the tiny ear plug type head phones and not the over ear noise cancelling type. We were then offered newspapers and there was only Globe and Mail.

Soon we were offered the menu cards. I was pleasantly surprised at the menu options on such a short flight.

Boarding was completed at 5:50pm for our 6pm departure and the door was closed at 5:53pm.

Once we reached cruising altitude we were offered blankets. Soon after this was done, our drink orders were taken followed by hot towels that were offered and promptly cleared away.

The drink service commenced immediately and the drinks were served with a pack of salted almonds.

While we were enjoying our drinks, the FA came around and took the meal orders. After this exercise was completed, the FA came around again to check if we wanted a refill and if not the empty glasses were cleared away.

The meal service started and the meal tray was served with all courses at the same time. I was surprised that there was no table cloth laid on the tray table prior to serving the meal.
I had selected the Butter chicken and was totally disappointed as it didnt taste anything like Indian style Butter chicken.

Once everyone had their meals, the FA came around with a bread basket. The bread basket was a bit of a disappointment as there was a choice of only whole wheat or white bread and not choice between different types of bread i.e. buns, pita etc.

The FAs were constantly moving around in the cabin and would clear the meal trays promptly of those who has finished eating.

A short while later the FA came around with a tray of the same roasted salted almonds.

This was followed by Duty Free Sales and passengers were informed that if we had a connecting domestic flight, we can still purchase and carry aboard the next flight as there wouldnt be another security check in Vancouver.

Overall, the flight was pretty average. The hard product was nothing exciting to write home about, but the crew and their service were amazing and made sure every passenger in the business class cabin were well looked after.
