In case you are not familiar with the “new” Be Well program, subsequent to when you could no longer earn/redeem Airmiles at Rexall effective May 01. 2020; this new program was launched in September 2020 where you can:
Earn 10 points for every $1 spent
and redeem 25,000 points for $10 redeemable cash value.
Now with this new partnership, you can earn 50 points for every $1 spent.
How much do you need to spend to get free money?
If you do not hold a RBC debit/credit card;
you need to spend $2500 to earn $10.
If you hold a RBC debit/credit card;
you need to spend $500 to earn $10.
Personally, I would not go out of my way to earn Be Well points and only passively collect them like AirMiles as I feel I can get better value by using my Amex Gold for 2x per $1 and also since I value an Amex MR higher also due to its trading power towards flights, hotels etc.
Having said that, its nice to see new offers and products being launched and new partnerships being forged while some partnerships end i.e. The Lowe’s group of partners (Lowe’s, Rona, Reno-Depot) will end their partnership with AIR MILES on January 31. It will be exciting to see how the landscape of points and miles evolve in 2021.
