Qatar Airways is enticing passengers to book with them with the assurance that you can make changes(some restrictions apply) and even cancel if you decide not to travel.
Here are the main features:
– You can change your travel date and destination within the same booking class, as often as you need with no fees. (Fare difference will apply).
– You also have the option to refund the unutilized value of your ticket to the original form of payment with no penalties or refund fees.
– Applicable for tickets issued on or before April 30, 2021.
– Valid for any Qatar Airways’ tickets purchased either directly from Qatar Airways or through travel agents.
Here are the rules around changes:
– All travel must be completed by 31 December 2021.
– Rebooking fees will be waived if reservations are amended before departure (for travel on/before December 31, 2021).
– Must rebook into the same booking class as the original ticket. Any fare and tax difference will apply.
Here are the rules around refunds:
– Cancellation penalties will be waived if requested before departure.
– Amount will be refunded to original form of payment.
So, this is a good way to lock in fares for anticipated travel for 2021 having the confidence that you can cancel from your end if you decide not to travel. Also, keep in mind if the fare and tax difference is too high to make changes, you can simply cancel the booking and book an alternate route/destination or even cancel and book with another airline.
