Are you a secondary credit cardholder with an Aeroplan co-branded credit card and/or do not have any status with Aeroplan?
With the transformed Aeroplan program, as a Secondary Cardholder on an Aeroplan credit card, you’re entitled to many of the same benefits that the Primary Cardholder receives.
You just need to make sure your own Aeroplan number is linked to your credit card and its a pretty simple process to link yourself to the primary cardholder.
Step 1.
Go to to the aeroplan website and then go to the page with credit card benefits
Step 2.
Scroll down to the bottom, and click on “Link my card”
Step 3.
You will see this page, just select the issuer of the card and click on “Next”
Step 4.
You will see this page with your Aeroplan details pre-populated, so just click on “Next”
Step 5.
You should get this screen when you are successfully linked
Finally, the primary card holder will also receive an email confirming the link as below:

The Aeroplan number of the person accessing the benefit must be included in the qualifying reservation, and the name on the airline reservation must be identical to the name on the Aeroplan account of the traveller.
For authorized users’ ability to access available benefits, their Aeroplan number must be linked to a valid Aeroplan credit card account as verified by the bank.
Allow up to 72 hours after the CIBC Aeroplan credit card account is approved, or the Aeroplan number of the authorized user is linked to the authorized user credit card, for these benefits to be activated.
