Etihad has just launched their WorldPass subscription that allows one to travel freely where and when you want. You simply pick the destination, class of service i.e. in Economy or Business and the number of passes you want. You then have 12 months to use these passes. You also have the option to buy shared Etihad WorldPass which can be used by multiple travellers.
Here is a quick visual glance at the benefits
Lets look at some of the benefits of booking using a WorldPass:
-Quick and simple to book
-Fixed locked in prices
-If your plans change, you can rearrange or cancel your flights for free. When this happens the Etihad WorldPass voucher(s) is credited back to your account.
-Option to pick from packages of six flights to a single destination to up to 20 flights to multiple destinations.
-Option to buy Individual or shared passes that can be used by others
Note that with this launch, Etihad WorldPass is currently available for flights throughout the GCC, India, Pakistan, UK and Ireland.
Here are some more benefits:
-Etihad WorldPass bookings are fully flexible, meaning that you can change or cancel them for free – You can change or cancel your ticket up to one hour before your flight.
-You are also eligible to earn Etihad Guest Miles every time you fly with your Etihad WorldPass.
-Once you create your Etihad WorldPass account you can add or remove travellers on shared Etihad WorldPass products and manage traveller permissions.
You are able to book, change and/or cancel the flight only on the Etihad WorldPass website or by reaching out to the Etihad WorldPass Support. These options will not be available on etihad.com or Etihad Airways mobile app for the Etihad WorldPass guests. However, upon booking a flight on the Etihad WorldPass website, to check-in and select a seat or a meal, you will need to visit etihad.com or Etihad Airways mobile app, as these options are currently not available on the Etihad WorldPass website as of today
To get an idea of the pricing I had a look at two of the popular routes for the ME3 carriers – Mumbai, India and London, UK.
Fares for Mumbai start at AED 7,200.00 to AED 87,800.00.
Fares for London, UK start at AED 8,598.00 to AED 195,000.00
I can certainly see the benefit in this for frequent travellers who want to lock in prices and have the flexibility to make changes and cancellations. Also, we hope this is rolled out to other remaining destinations on their network. This will definitely help us booking with points and miles with booking one way positioning flights as they tend to be pretty expensive if booking one way international flights.
