On the heels of the flexibility announced by Marriott Bonvoy, Hilton has now announced their flexibility for their Hilton Honors members.
Here are the updates:
1. Points expiry
The points expiration is being extended and now points will not expire until December 31, 2021.
2. Faster path to Elite Status
Effective January 1, 2021 you can earn status with half the nights, stays or Base Points required in 2021.
This is in addition to the earlier change where all your 2020 nights will rollover to next year, giving you a head start to upgrade your Status.
3. Milestone Bonus awarded faster
In 2021, you will also earn Milestone Bonuses in half the nights.
This means you will earn 10,000 Bonus Points starting at 20 nights (instead of the current 40-night requirement) and continue to earn 10,000 Bonus Points for every additional 10 nights you stay in 2021.
4. Maintain your current status longer
All Elite members will now keep their current Status through March 31, 2022 – even those members who were scheduled to downgrade in 2020 or 2021.
Again, its great to see these flexible allowances as travel and hotel stays are severely curtailed these days. Thanks to Hilton indeed.
Stay Safe.
