Air Canada and Aeroplan are going all out with offers during these days when travel is almost at a standstill.
The newest promotion is an addition to the Aeroplans Travel at Home which I wrote about earlier. You can now buy Aeroplan Miles at a bonus and earn Air Canadas’s Altitude Prestige 25K status.
So how does this work?
From May 7‑13 2020, when you buy miles, you’ll enjoy significant bonuses for all miles purchased. Even better, half of all the miles you purchase as part of this offer will count towards reaching a higher Altitude status.
As you can see the earlier you buy, the more bonus miles you will get.
Whats the cost?
The normal cost is $0.03 per mile. If you get in early and get the 115% bonus, your cost per mile will drop to $0.014 per mile.
So to get the status, since half of all the miles you purchase as part of this offer will count towards reaching a higher Altitude status, you will need to buy 100,000 miles, and that will set you back by 100,000 x $0.03 = $3000 plus taxes.
As a result you will walk away with Air Canada Altitude Prestige 25K status and 215,000 miles.
Set your alarm clocks for May 7th.
