It appears that the Corona virus outbreak is impacting travel into US even if you are originating and travelling out of Canada. Air Canada is advising its passengers travelling out of Toronto Pearson to check in atleast 3 hours before your flight as U.S. Customs and Border Protection are experiencing longer processing times.
Here is the first question which pops up when you start your online check-in process to validate if you have been to China within the last 14 days.
After you continue your check in process, there is an Important Notice towards the end to recommend arriving at the airport three hours prior to the flight to allow enough time as U.S. Customs and Border Protection are experiencing longer processing times.
However, the Check-in/Boarding Times page is not updated to reflect this change.
I did a quick spot check on expertflyer.com on one of the flights departing this morning and the reasons listed for the delay are Immigration, Customs and Health
However, I understand that the wait times do not affect members of a known traveller program, such as Nexus or Global Entry.
Safe Travels!!
