When booking flights using Aeroplan, it is important to use the right card to pay the taxes to ensure you have free coverage in cases of issues related to travel. I will be reviewing several cards but right now lets take a look at the TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Credit Card.
This card has an annual fee of $120 but currently there is a limited time offer of First Year Free. Additionally, you will get a welcome Bonus of 15,000 Aeroplan Miles when you make your first Purchase with your card plus spend $1,000 and earn 5,000 Aeroplan Miles in each of the first 3 months, up to a total of 15,000 Aeroplan Miles, by earning 5 additional Aeroplan Miles on all Purchases.
So lets have a look at the travel benefits:
- Trip Cancellation/Trip Interruption Insurance: For Trip Cancellation up to $1,500 of coverage per insured person, with a maximum of $5,000 for all insured persons, and for Trip Interruption, up to $5,000 of coverage per insured person, with a maximum of $25,000 for all insured persons on the same covered trip.
- Delayed and Lost Baggage Insurance: Up to $1,000 overall coverage per insured person toward the purchase of essentials such as clothes and toiletries if your baggage is delayed more than 6 hours or lost.
- Flight/Trip Delay Insurance: Up to $500 in coverage if your flight/trip is delayed more than 4 hours.
To be eligible for these free insurance coverages, your trip must be paid for in full using your Aeroplan affiliated TD Credit Card and/or Aeroplan Miles.
