PayTM has emailed users with an announcement that, starting January 8, 2018, your Visa transactions on Paytm may be treated as a Cash Advance by the issuer of the Visa card as well as, the transaction may be subject to cash advance fee and/or interest charges.
They go on to say that they will continue to work with all the stakeholders so that that can bring us our seamless service. They also say they are confident that they will also have a solution for us soon.
Meanwhile, I guess we can use either MasterCard or American Express.
It will be interesting to see how this develops.
