With American Express Platinum, I cant recall a time when you could earn over 2x per $1. But that appears to have changed – check your mail for a targeted offer where you can earn an addition 2 MR per $1.
Note that this is in addition to the points you normally earn on your card. To qualify for this bonus Membership Rewards points offer, you must spend a total of $2,000 CAD or more (after taxes) in purchases using your eligible American Express Card from October 1, 2018 at 12:00:01am ET to October 31, 2018 at 11:59:59pm ET. You can earn 2 bonus Membership Rewards points for every $1 in purchases charged to your Card, up to a maximum of $5,000 CAD in purchases.
Since you normally earn 1.25 MR per $1, this means you can earn 3.25 MR per $1. So, in essence if you max out this offer, thats an additional 10,000 MR points.
