Starbucks is touting changes in the US and Canada to their rewards program effective April 16, 2019 as attractive.
But if you analyse it in detail, it is really a devaluation as you could redeem for pretty much anything for 125 stars.
The new program makes the current redemption more expensive, but it does allow new redemptions for lower amount of stars.
Here are the changes:
– Lunch sandwich, Protein Box or Salad – going up to 200 stars from 150 stars
– Handcrafted Drink, Hot Breakfast or Yogurt Parfaits-remains unchanged at 150 stars
New:
– Extra Espresso Shot, Dairy substitute or Additional Flavour – 25 stars
– Brewed Hot Coffee, Hot Tea or select Bakery Items – 50 stars
– Select Merchandise or Packaged Coffee – 400 stars
